ODIN is giving error and closing in few seconds , error shown is "File not found c:\OdinIntegrated\Client\NewsInformation.mdb"

When you try to start ODIN and it closed in few seconds then try to see the message which is coming on the screen.

If following message is coming then follow below steps :

File not found c:\OdinIntegrated\Client\NewsInformation.mdb

Open  registry editor:

Click Start
Click Run
type regedit.exe
After Registry Editor is opened goto following path:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\NEWS]

delete news section totaly.

Now start ODIN and it will work properly.

While starting ODIN DUMP error is coming

When you are starting odin client or odin admin dump error is coming.

Solution :

Login to PC as administrator then it will work.

open REGEDIT

Goto following location :

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI]

Delete "News" folder if any.

Now start ODIN in "Run as Administrator". It should work fine.

Save the Arbitrage.xls in Excel 97-2003 format.

Always Start ODIN in Administrator Mode on Windows 7

Many utilities need to be run as administrator in order to function properly, 

especially older utilities that haven’t been updated to support Windows 7.

All shortcuts in Windows since Vista have a special property that you can

 set that will allow the application to run as Administrator.

This works perfectly for creating a batch file to restart a service, for instance.

To set this property, just right-click on any shortcut, and click the Advanced button on the Shortcut page to get to the Advanced Properties dialog.

You’ll see a dialog with a checkbox for “Run as administrator”.

From now on, the application will always run as administrator if you use the shortcut to launch it. (You’ll be prompted by UAC if you have it enabled).

A quick answer is that according to Note 684106 - Microsoft runtime DLLs, SAP used different releases of the Visual Studio Compiler for Windows x86 to produce the executables for different releases of SAP. Normally, this would be irrelevant as the appropriate files would be copied on to your system via the SAPINST tool, but in my case I wanted to use my new SAPCAR before I started installing anything 

The note provides instructions on where and how to download the appropriate Microsoft Visual C++  Redistributable Package. I have found, depending on your release of Windows and / or Netweaver, that you may need to download the  Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package and / or Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package. I imagine that sooner or later, as SAP migrate to later releases of the Visual Studio Compiler, you may' end up having to download a 2012 Redistributable Package.

To get these files, go to the Microsoft Download Centre and search for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package and / or Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package. There will be separate downloads for IA64 (vcredist_IA64.exe), X64 (vcredist_x64.exe) and X86 (vcredist_x86.exe). Find the appropriate Microsoft Visual C++ 20NN SP1 Redistributable Package and download and execute it.

Solution 2 :

Remove all Microsoft Visual C++ 200X from (Control Panel-Programs-Uninstall a Program)
Re-Install ODIN from setup Again.
Restart PC .
Now it will work.

-The file can also be found in c:\ODIN\Diet\vcredist_New_x86.exe

Show extensions of files in Windows XP

For Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003

1. Start Windows Explorer, you can do this by opening up any folder.
2. Click Tools, and then click Folder Options.
3. Scroll down and then click Folder and search options.
4. Click the View tab.
5. Scroll down until you notice Hide extensions for known file types, un-check this line by clicking the check box.
   
   Note To hide file name extensions, check this line.

F5 is not opening

Click Windows -> Tile Horizontally.

Now you will see 3 open windows of F5 which got hidden behind the marketwatch.

You can close all 3 windows then again F5 will start working.

Mini-Admin not working after installation in Windows XP

If after installing the SETUP of ODIN Mini-Admin if it is not working then follow the following steps:

1. Open Control Panel.
2. Click Add Remove Programs and then click Add Windows Components.
3. Select Message Queuing and click Details.

   Note
   If you are running Windows Server 2003, select Application Server to access Message Queuing.

4. Ensure that the option MSMQ HTTP Support is selected on the details page.
5. Click OK to exit the details page, and then click Next. Complete the installation.
6. If you are prompted to restart the computer, click OK to complete the installation.

Date and Time not visible in ODIN in windows 7 and windows 8

Date and Time is shown on top-right on ODIN in windows XP.

If Date and Time is not visible even after doing settings in Preferences -> Workspace then follow the following steps :

We need to disable the Aero function in windows to get the Date and Time working.

Select the 'Windows Classic' Theme in Personalize option to get best look.

Disabling Aero in Windows 8

If you’re trying to disable Aero in Windows 8, you’ll be interested to know that there’s no reason to, because they’ve disabled the Aero transparency theme by default anyway.

So there’s no point in bothering for Windows 8 or 8.1.

Disabling Aero for Windows 7

First, you’ll want to right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize from the menu.

Then you can simply scroll the themes down until you see the Basic themes.

You might also have some performance reasons for disabling it… to do so, just right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize. Click the “Window Color and Appearance” link:

2) Update the latest Patch and Update Masters folder(Scrip files) after that login

version 7, you might have 2 options. Please put ‘1’ value in both of them.

Masters. Click on NSE Equity & NSE Derivates & click on Download. Now Log off from Odin &
Re-logon.
